JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The prosecution has rested in the Tyrone Hartsfield trial after nearly five hours of a taped conversation Monday and two full days of testimony from Stephfan Wilson finishing today.

Wilson said he was with Hartsfield when they followed former Jaguars lineman Richard Collier to an apartment in Riverside. Hartsfield has been charged with attempted murder for shooting Collier in the driveway of that apartment building in September 2008. The wounds left Collier paralyzed.

The defense is now beginning its case.

Detective Dennis Sullivan took the stand this afternoon to talk about Wilson's admission to him in October that he lied about his involvement with Hartsfield the night of the shooting.

Defense attorney Patrick McGuinness in his cross-examination, used Sullivan to try and discredit Wilson as a viable witness.

He showed Sullivan an affidavit signed by Sullivan in which he wrote "suspect drove witness away from scene," though Wilson has stated throughout the trial that he drove Hartsfield away from the scene.

McGuinness also read back to Sullivan statements he made to Wilson during the interview. He recounted Sullivan tellling Wilson that the case was the biggest one in Jacksonville, and if Wilson didn't start telling the truth, Sullivan would "make some phone calls," hinting at revoking Wilson's probation.

McGuinness spent the morning challenging Wilson's credibility. He asked if he was an honest person, and about yesterday's recorded statements that he has morals. He also asked about his history of selling cocaine. But McGuinness struggled to get direct answers from Wilson.
